Balloon Safaris in Masai Mara
The adventure begins just before dawn when you are collected from your lodge in Masai Mara and driven to the site of the balloon launch – around 6.15 a.m. Flames from the Balloons’ burners light the darkness as the crews inflate their craft. As the first pink tongues of Africa’s sunlight flicker across the skies, the inflated balloons begin to rise.

Balloon Safari in Masai Mara
Suspended in a basket beneath the rainbow-colored canopy, you are off for a game viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective.
You will be amazed by the silence as you float over the plains, the forest, and the Mara River. The sounds below drift clearly upwards: a lion’s roar, elephants crashing through the bush, screeching baboons perched in the tips of the trees startled to see something above them.
You see the wildebeest moving in large numbers across the Masai Mara plains, the beauty of the landscape when the rising sun’s bright orange colours are displayed, the elephants at the water pool, and the gazelles and zebras scampering away, maybe scared of the alien object in the sky.
For an hour or so you drift wherever the air currents take you, then in time-honored tradition of ballooning the world over you toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast, cooked before your eyes on the burners that minutes before, kept you suspended in the air.

in August 2008 I asked for a place in a balloon from Fig Tree Camp in Masai Mara for next day. I was told that they are full but I should come for there is high probability that anybody will not come. Early morning I was on the place but sorry all came. OK. I immediately booked for three days later to be sure and was the first on the list. In the evening before I was told that they were booked full from Nairobi and there is no place for me. Can you make business with people of this kind? Of course I never will try again.

Hello Kirchweger,
I am sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused you. But I would like to clarify that during July to October, August included is high season, especially in the Masai Mara due to the Wildebeest Migration. And it is very unlikely for someone to miss a balloon safari because it will cost him 100% of his/her payment made for the safari.
I suggest that you book in advance through us at Kenyaonetours.com. Email us at safaris (at) kenyaonetours.com to book your safari.
You will enjoy immensely seeing the game from a different perspective. You will be amazed by the silence as you float over the plains, the forest, and the Mara River
I will be waiting to hear from you.
