Wedding & Honeymoon Safari in Kenya at Finch Hattons Safari Camp
Kenya offers the right combination of beautiful and romantic hotels, stunning scenery, and is easily accessible to visitors. A wedding in Kenya is an ideal opportunity for the bride, groom, and guests alike to also experience the romance and adventure of a Kenyan honeymoon. While the idea of arranging a wedding in a foreign country may seem daunting, the legalities of marrying in Kenya can be readily arranged by us.
Kenya‘s many private game ranches and lodges all make an ideal secluded wedding venue, and a special wedding-honeymoon package can be arranged for both the couple and their guests. When it comes to Honeymoons, Kenya has long been recognized as one of the most romantic destinations on earth. It has a range of options for couples looking for a personal paradise of peace and privacy.
When you are planning for a wedding, let your imagination run wild and consider Kenya for a truly unforgettable day. The major choice facing couples considering a Kenyan wedding is choosing the backdrop for the day. While some settle for the beach, weddings can also be arranged in the bush, in tented wilderness camps, on riverbanks, in remote safari lodges, or wherever your imagination may take you.
Kenyan weddings can be informal and relaxed; barefoot on the beach, relaxing under canvas, or completely formal with black ties and wedding gowns in the bush. The cocktail of formality and wilderness has become a trademark of Kenya’s romantic safari lifestyle and is easier to arrange than you may think.
Like for example, when a wedding is held in one of the beach resorts at the coast, the reception area of the hotel is completely transformed into a wedding chapel decorated with local tropical flowers. The marriage registrar or local pastor officiates over a wonderfully informal ceremony followed by a garden reception. The reception is also an opportunity to enjoy a delicious Kenyan sea food buffet with an evening’s dancing bringing to an end a most relaxed and happy occasion.
Kenya One Tours have been arranging weddings in Kenya for many years, and are old hands at meeting special and unusual requests. We have arranged for wedding parties to arrive at their ceremony on camelback, traditional drummers to play a special wedding march, or a wedding in the bush with the wildlife as special guests. The wedding flowers, including bridal bouquet and boutonnières, wedding cake, and Champagne can also be provided and the choice of activities available at different venues make each wedding spectacular on its own.
The following is an option for your wedding ceremony to be held at Tsavo in Finch Hattons Safari Camp. Please make arrangements to book the flights to Kenya with a local travel agent close to you as this would be a more convenient and cheaper option.
Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo West covers an area of 9,065 sq km. It offers tremendous views with diverse habitats, ranging from mountains, river forest, plains, lakes and wooded grassland. It’s plains border with Tanzania. Mzima Springs, a pool of natural spring water with underwater viewing hides for observing hippos, is another attraction. The Chyulu Hills are a volcanic mountain range with a mix of volcanic cones, the most interesting one being Shetani, which means “devil” in Kiswahili, and barren lava flows.
Finch Hatton’s Tented Lodge
Nestling at the foot of the Chyulu Hills is Finch Hatton’s Tented Lodge. This luxury tented lodge is named after the aristocrat Denny’s Finch Hatton who introduced Royalty to the bush and whose style was impeccable. For the famous hunter, known from the movie “Out of Africa”, Mozart, fine china, and cut crystal were essential. Mineral water bubbles out of the rock, forming 3 huge Hippo Pools, and is also home to Hippos and Crocodiles. The tents have all of the amenities of a five star hotel with bathrooms en-suite. Breakfast is served on the Terrace overlooking the main Hippo Pool against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
