Ashnil Aruba Lodge

Ashnil Hotels Limited, a new player in the hotel industry built a lodge – Ashnil Aruba Lodge in Tsavo East National Park. Ashnil Aruba Lodge opened in mid April 2008.

The lodge takes its name from the Aruba Dam, an oasis that forms an irresistible attraction to both man and beast in this otherwise dry dusty Tsavo East National Park. The new Aruba Lodge sits on a watering site overlooking the Aruba dam.

This and other nearby watering holes are favourites for large mammals especially herds of elephants that are often dramatically coloured red from the soil and are quite a spectacle as they majestically traverse back and forth across the plains.

Also to be seen are the Burchells Zebra, the Maasai Giraffe, Grants Gazelle, Lesser Kudu, the reserved and somewhat bad-tempered Cape Buffalo. For Ornithologists, this area is a haven with over 500 bird species recorded from the area.

With its 40 modern comfortable ensuite double rooms and well appointed restaurant, bar and swimming pool overlooking the dam, Aruba Lodge makes an ideal centrally located lodge from which to explore the expansive wilderness of Tsavo East National Park.

Tsavo East National Park is easily accessible by air and road and it is situated 326 kilometers from Nairobi and 160 kilometers from Mombasa. The nearest airstrip is just five minutes away.
